December 30, 2021 - Neises Suspended by RTG for Season 55 Dateline: Bentonville, AR Rob Neises reports he was completely broadsided by a letter handed to him by RTG Ownership informing him he's suspended from racing at RTG for Season 55. This puts several affiliations, contracts, Team Memberships and cooperation agreements in jeopardy.
Neises wasn't allowed an appeal or the opportunity to plead his case. The closed circle of the ownership and admins didn't even leave Rob an opportunity to see if he was also suspended from the Speed Freaks series, still in Season 54, and where Neises is in the Top 5. When he tried to contact Teammate, friend & RTG Admin Dante, the calls went to voicemail. He was told he could practice and use league communications. No word from Rob if he would take RTG up on their offer.
April 21, 2021 - Neises Making Outlaw Racing Debute Dateline: Talladega, AL A new rig pulled into the Tally Challenge garage this afternoon. The new rig and team is just an old team rebranded. The Kenworth pulled into Talladega Superspeedway, and the gleaming white rig has a long-time team's name on the sleeper's door, "JGR Racing, Wichita, KS." That's right, Rob Neises is now a member of Outlaw Racing, it was on the rear door of the hauler under a large #54, that the new teams name was noted in small-type lettering, "OR/JGR". Out of the plain-Jayne hauler the crew pushed the kelly green Toyota Canry onto the lift gate and lowered the number 54 Oakland A's Toyota Camry. What was missing was driver Rob Neises. Rob, in the Chicago area for an ECT Aero Challenge race at Chicagoland Speedway, is expected to arrive later tonite from Illinois. Rob is teaming up with veteran drivers, Dante Ricci and Sonny Tallman for Season 53 of RTG's Tally Challenge Series. The team had 4 Superspeedway victories in Season 52, and Neises hopes by joining forces he can get rid of the goose egg in the win column at RTG. No other details have yet to be announced other than the Tally Challenge team will field Toyotas. Neises spoke to the media today by Skype. He was evasive in his answers, though he said to expect a full-blown media blitz after the RTG Superspeedway All-Star race on the 29th of this month. None of team members had any comments.
April 16, 2021 - Nises Making A Move Dateline: Fontana. CA Rob Neises, driver of the number 54 Dodge in RTG's Tally Challenge Series announced today that effective Season 53, he will be joining Outlaw Racing, in at least the Tally Challenge Series. Neises admitted this move had been in the works for some time. The change means one less Dodge in the MENCup Series. Neises will retain the 54 as his number, even though he is moving to the Toyota camp, effective immediately. Neises also gains two teammates, Dante Ricci in the number 84 Camry, and Sonny Tallman, in the number 55 Camry. Primary Sponsorship for the team will be provided by McDonald's and M&M-Mars Candies. Associate Sponsorship for the 54 include the US Navy, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Coca-Cola, and Budweiser Beer. In other news, Neises reported upgrading the templates on JGR's Toyota Camry fleet. Neises will debut his number 54 Camry on Thursday, April 22nd at the All-Star Open at Talladega. The MLB's Oakland A's will be the primary on the OR/JGR Toyota Camry
April 5, 2021 - JGR Making Changes Dateline: Fontana. CA Rob Neises, Driver/Owner at James Gang Racng, held a Zoom Press Conference from the Press Car of the SCKL Special today. At the heart of the meeting with local LA, and National Motorsports Media was changes coming to JGR. Neises informed all that JGR has invested large amounts of funds to upgrade the JGR racing stable. The first salvo was an upgrade on Thursday and Saturday's Chevy entries into the Cup and SS Series. The older Chevy SS' are being replaced with newer. more competitive Camaro's starting Season 7 of BSR's SS Series. He announced a three prong attack on the Season 7 schedule. Along with Dodge's Dart, the new Chevy Camaro's, Thursday's Toyota Camry will also run Saturdays, and the Dodge on Thursday's. Finally, Neises announced he would try to qualify for this weeks Tally Challenge at RTG Thursday, as Martinsville is not raceable with one hand/arm. Run Jon Surf Shop will be the primary on the number 54 Dodge Challenger. Neises reiterated that this is only the first salvo, so stay tuned for further updates.
March 22, 2021 - RTG Owners Ruling Destroys JGR Championship Hopes Dateline: Ft Worth, TX A new ruling handed down by the Owners of thr RTG Racing League ended the Championship hopes of JGR in the Tally Challenge Series, for Season 52 anyways. The ruling states effective, another driver may not drive anothers car in a fill-in role. That means 3-Time Winner, Dante Ricci must vacate the seat of the #54, immediately. Since the car had been entered for this week, Rob Neises has decided to make the race on Thursday. Neises has off, he is taking a Provisional in the BSR Cup Series race at Bristol this week. No word yet what car make Rob will race. Both a Dodge Challenger, and a Ford Mustang sit at the joint JGR - Dodge Race Shops near the race track. Neises has already admitted to media that he will not run a qualifying lap unless absolutely necessary, and will only race as long as medically feasable.
March 22, 2021 - Neises Breaks Four-Year Winless Streak Dateline: Talladega, AL A very jubulent Rob Neises was helped out of his number 54 Dodge Dealers, Dodge Charger earlier tonite at Talladega Super Speedway. It was a big surprise. After finishing Third last night in the IROC finale', Rob was asked to stay and race the ICR finale'. He was greeted earlier in the day with news that he had been reinstated as an Admin at ECT, and that they wanted him to assist on Sunday's in the IROC Series, and run the Monday Speedway Series on Monday's, where they race ICR cars.Neises quickly accepted. Then came racetime. His Dodge Dealers Dodge Charger ran well, and Neises minimized his mistakes. Neises came out second after final green-flag pit stops. The 87 quickly pulled behind Neises and pushed the 54 up to leader, John Forgione. with 6 laps to go, the two passed the 95, putting Rob in the lead. The 87 stayed behind the 54 and pushed him to victory, his first since 2016. "I want to Thank Pete and John for the reinstatement and giving me a series to run. And big props to Billy for pushing me to the win!", Neises ended the interview with. The Dodge Team of JGR's at Talladega took care of the car, while Rob took a helicopter to the airport where he took the JGR jet to Texas, for tomorrow's RTG Winston Cup 98 race there.
March 11, 2021 - Neises, M&M-Mars & Del Monte Foods Team Up for Cup Racing at BSR Dateline: Blue Ridge Summit, PA Rob Neises, JGR President / Driver held a news conference after finishing a disappointing 4th at Blueridge Speedway. He spoke none of the race he lead nearly 25% before getting wrecked. What Neises chose to speak about is the new televised race series at BSR. And that with the 54 seat filled by Danti Ricci at RTG, he was gonna build his way back via the BSR series. Neises will pilot Toyota Camry's and Chevy SS' in the series. The Camry's will carry primary sponsorship from Skittles, with Coke, Interstate Batteries, US Navy, Valvoline, Ron Jon Surf Shop, and McDonald's as Associate Sponsors, The Chevy SS will carry Del Monte Foods as the primary. Each sponsor will be featured 5 times.
March 10, 2021 - Ricci In 54 Remainder of Tally Challenge Season Dateline: Zoom Call, USA Rob Neises, and Danti Ricci held a zoom news conference today. Danti in Pikes Peak. Colorado , Neises aboard the SCKL Special, unloading for the ECT Aero Thunder race at Blueridge Speedway. The joint presser was to announce two big changes in JGR's Tally Challenge program at RTG. The first, Danti will be in the number 54 the remainder of Season 52. The second. the 54 will return to running Ford Mustangs, at least for the remainder of the season. Former primary, current Major Associate sponsor, McDonald's will also return to the JGR entry. Team Owner / driver Rob Neises added, "I'm progressing well this time, but when I had an opportunity to put a world class driver like Danti in the car, it was a no-brainer. Dodge is okay with waiting till next season to return to the TC program at JGR. I'd also like to thank Chuck McClure for the ride he gave the Ron Jon car last week, and Zak Fremouw for the ride he gave the McDonald's Intrepid the other week. I hope he'll be back in the car again soon.
March 6, 2021 - Neises Makes Announcement Dateline: Daytona Beach, FL After eeking out a 17th place finish in the BSR SS race, Rob Neises climbed out of his #54 Ron Jon Surf Shop Chevy SS, and asked the media to meet at the Press Car of the SCKL Special. Later, Neises told the assembled media that he will continue to place other drivers in his #54 Dodge Challengers for at least the next 3 weeks, possibly the remainder of the Tally Challenge season. He also announced he will not run any tracks at RTG less than a mile for at least three weeks, again, possibly longer. He also announced that April 7th, he is sponsoring a race on FRN in honor of his youngest Cole's 18th Birthday / Graduation from High School. His 18th is actually March 31st, and he graduates in mid-May. With the announcements, that means Rob plans on running ECT Sunday and Monday, possibly even Tuesday. Tuesday and Wednesday he will be at RTG, Thursday thru Saturday, BSR.
February 27, 2021 - Neises Returns to Racecar Dateline: Talladega, AL Rob Neises suprised everyone Saturday night when he returned to his number 54 Dodge Dealers Dodge Dart, just 3 days after leaving for reconstructive surgery on his left hand. After having tendons in three fingers and his thumb transplanted, Neises was out of the hospital that night and recuperating. He surprised all when he arrived in Talladega in time to race in BSR's SS Series race. Neises attributes modifying his race setup to not missing 3 months like last time. He is not back full-time though. Last Thursday, Danti Ricci filled in and took the number 54 to a 2nd place finish in RTG's Tally Challenge. Next Thursday, Chuck McClure fills in the 54. No word yet on who will pilot the Challenger in the regular season finale the 11th. Neises plans on working his way back to full-time, Tuesday is a big race, Rob will jump into the 54 to race back at RTG, and evaluate if he can race the TV event the following night, also at Atlanta.
February 24, 2021 - Neises Steps Away Dateline: St Louis, MO Effective with the end of the Aero88 race tonight at Gateway, Rob Neises steps away from his driving duties of the number 54 car. For how long, or what it looks like, remains to be seen. Neises will still run the Team, just not tomorrow's RTG Tally Challenge race at Talladega.Neises steps away for surgery number 30. Neises is having reconstructive surgery on his left hand, replacing the tendons, like he had done last summer. Last time he missed nearly three months. Neises said he had made some changes to his controls that will get him back into the car sooner - he hopes! In the JGR Dodge Challenger will be friends, Chuck McClure or Dante Ricci. Neises says if the modifications work out, he could be back in a car Friday at BSR's Xfinity Series race at Miami-Homestead Speedway. "I want to get a few races under my belt before I return to my driving duties on the number 54 Dodge's and Ford's at RTG", Neises said before he left by chopper, heading to Wichita for his early afternoon surgery tomorrow.
February 8, 2021 - Automation Dooms Neises' Night.. Dateline: Daytona Beach, FL To say Rob Neises was upset as the Barebones Series hit the high-banks of Daytona as Speedweeks begins is an understatement. Last nigh in the ECT IROC Series, Neises soldiered through headset communication and a pit road penalty to finish 5th in the race. The issues continued as Rob arrived at DIS. Not only did his communications go down pre-race, but his electrical box went down and the
automatic race entry list counted him as a DNS. Neises went to the trailer to get some points out of the debacle. No word back yet on a decision. Neises hopes he fairs better tomorrow in the Season 52 debut race in the Winston Cup 98 Series at Daytona. Neises debuts the 4th iteration of tht Ron Jon Surf Shop scheme, on his Dodge Intrepid. Neises was to debut his new Executive Security Dodge Challenger in tonites Barebones race. That currently leaves Ford only as the primary car provider in the Aero88 Series.. While the race was his backdrop, Neises held court in the garage. The big announcement, Neises held for a caution. "Effective February 24th, I'll be stepping away from racing for an undetermined length of time. I am having my left hand rebuilt, as I did my right last year. Its the left hand this time, and I have no idea how long I will be out," Neises ended the impromptu news conference. He then got into a helicopter and flew back to the SCKL Special, tied up at the Orlando Amrak Station's siding. .
January 25, 2021 - Electrical Gremlins Doom Neises' Night.. Dateline: Edgewater, FL Rob Neises just shrugged after finishing 27th, 12 laps down earlier this evening at Edgewater Raceway. He had just made a baller move and pitted with a restart to lead a lap. He got the lap back at the next caution, then phantom electrical issues put him behind the wall for 15laps. After the lengthy repairs, Neise returned to get 3 Lucky Dogs and finish 12 laps down in 27th. "I thought we had a Top 15 - 20 car tonite. We ran here because Florida is a lot closer to Atlanta then Chicagoland in Illinois. I thought the extra rest and relaxation would help the crew." Was Neises' only comments. Ater the presser, Neises boarded the Special for the trip to Alabama. Tomorrow night, the Dodge crew will pit the Midwest Dodge Dealers, Dodge Intrepid for the next-to-last Speed Freaks race at Talladega. That series ends next week at Daytona.
January 19, 2021 - Neises Announces Changes Starting January 19th.. Dateline: Daytona, FL Rob Neises held a pre-race press conference aboard the SCKL Special's Press Car before the Speed Freaks race at DIS tonite. First he announced that Sunday's racing will be determined by the track, and how Neises feels about it. Then Rob went into sponsorship changes, starting tomorrow at "The Rock". Tomorrow night will be the first race of the Amtrak sponsored Ford Mavericks in 2021. Thursday, Ron Jon Surf Shop takes a few races off the Dodge Challenger in Tally Challenge Series racing. In its place will be Dodge Dealers. On Friday at BSR's Winter Xfinity race, Neises said NMRA.org will adorn the Dodge Challenger. the biggest change will be Monday in the Barebones Series. There, Executive Security has asked to be removed , "for a few weeks.:No reason was given, so the Ford Mustang will be sponsorless. Also, Neises added that next IROC race, Neises will field his Maroon Pontiac Firebird from 2013. Lucky that Neises had a pre-race newsconference, because getting involved in somebody else's wreck caused Neises to finish a lap down in 15th. He chose to get on a helicopter and fly to Rockingham, North Carolina, for tomorrows Aero88 race there.
January 5, 2021 - Neises Relatively Quiet After Second "Bad" Finish. Dateline: Daytona, FL Rob Neises was obviously holding back a trade last night in the post-race media scrum after the Speed Freaks race at the "World Center of Racing."
Angry about just making laps after being ran into the wall on lap 12 of tonite;s race. Coupled with a finish outside the Top 20 Monday at Michigan, Rob basically refused to talk about the races. Neises did keep his word, and spoke on the rest of his weekly racing plans. "Wednesdays, I will return to the RTG Aero88 series in Ford Thunderbird's and Mavericks. I will pilot Dodge Challengers in the Tally Challenge, with a cobbled together sponsorship package that will see Dodge Dealers, McDonald's, and Ron Jon Surf Shop filling most race dates. I do plan on having at least one surgery, and return to the Train Club.sometime in '21. Friday and Saturday's I will race at BSR in their Winter Xfinity and SS Series'. Dodge and Chevy's will be behind that effort. That just leaves Sunday!. It will be a mixed bag, splitting time between RTG's Triple "X" series in a Dodge truck, and ECT's IROC series in a Chevy Camaro, Now you know what I know," Neises said, then he got up and hopped in his golf cart to the Special.
January 1, 2021 - Neises Finishes in Top 10 Dateline: Talladega, AL Rob Neises, driver of the number 54, Riedmiller, Andersen & Scott, llc, Dodge Ram was very happy at the post-race media session after the BSR Hangover 200. Neises, who finished 8th in the 30 car field, said, "It was a pretty clean race on our part, though there were a number of cautions. And to end it, racing ECT bro, Billy Ellisor to the finish, and being part of the 4, who finished in the Top 8 from ECT, was rewarding." Again, Neises was asked about '21. This time, Rob had a partial answer anyways. "Right now, my crew is unloading my Chevy Camaro IROC car for Sunday nights ECT-IROC Series 35 finale',here at Talladega. Yesterday, SCKL Special, Section 1, started heading to Brooklyn, Michigan, for the RTG, Barebones, Series 52 kick-off on Monday. In that series, I will pilot Ford Mustangs, with at least a 7-race primary sponsorship by Executive Security of Wichita, Kansas. On Tuesday, I will fly to Daytona, where I will finish the last 5 races in Series 51. In that series, we rotate between Daytona and Talladega. JGR has co-owned shops near those tracks with Dodge Racing. Ron Jon Surf Shop for Daytona, and Midwest Dodge Dealers for the Dodge Intrepid s I will pilot in the Speed Freaks Series at Talladega. I will have more info on Wednesday thru Saturday racing, later in the week," Neises announced. That was the highlights of Robby Neises' post-race media obligation.
January 1, 2021 - Happy New Years From JGR Dateline: Talladega, AL You won't find the SCKL Special in the yard West of Wichita. It and Team Owner/Driver Rob Neises have taken a skeleton crew to Talladega to start 2021 there, running the Hangover 200 by BSR. Neises sat down with the media there and wished everyone a Happy New Year. When asked about '21 plans, Rob said he would make all plans known soon. He said not everything was set in concrete yet. In the Truck race today, Neises said he had his new corporate partners, Dodge, to build him a 2020 Dodge Ram for the race. Thee Law Ofice of Riedmiller, Andersen & Scott, LLC and their show, Lawyer On the Line, is the primary sponsor of the number 54 dodge Ram.
